‘Beauty of the coastal Sri Lanka’ – The award ceremony of the school art competition on Marine & Coastal Conservation 2010 

The Turtle Conservation Project (TCP) has successfully conducted an art competition on marine & coastal resources of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Wijaya Newspapers Ltd. The aim of this art competition was to create awareness and interest on coastal conservation among the school children.  Thousands of entries from all provinces including north and east reflected the enthusiasm in school children for this competition and also entries showed various aspects of the coastal beauty including sea turtles, mangroves, coral reefs and golden sandy beaches etc. 

The award ceremony will be held on the 24th of July 2010 at the Colombo Public Library Auditorium at 09.00 am. The proposed chief guest will be the Honorable Minister of Economic Development Mr. Basil Rajapakse.  



30th Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation


Internationl Sea Turtle Society

TCP is happy to be an official partner in the 30th Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation which will be held in Goa India between the 27th and 29th of April 2010. The symposium conducted every year by the International Sea Turtle Society will be coming to the South Asia region for the first time in 2010.

Students researchers and academics policy makers government officials non-government and community based organizations and volunteers from around the world participate in this unique event. Visit the symposium website to learn more.
